Contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) on Leek (Allium fistulosum L.)

چکیده

Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection is still a health problem in Indonesia. This caused by intestinal nematodes which its transmission require soil media. Vegetables can be medium of STH. STH occurs when the contaminated with worm eggs and stick to vegetables. In addition, contamination occur traditional markets poor sanitation such as humid rooms, floors lots puddles, muddy water, improper placement waste. The aim study was describe on Scallion (Allium fistulosum L.). research descriptive research, examination done indirect method sedimentation technique. sample taken from 25 traders. Leeks many 15 (60%) samples type found hookworm rhabditiform larvae. There leeks sold at Bangetayu market, Semarang City. To avoid risk being infected STH, people are expected consume vegetables that have been cooked.
